While you can enjoy a cooking pack or BBQ pack for some alfresco cooking right from your tent overlooking beautiful lakes. Sometimes its a nice treat to have someone else do the cooking and washing up. So we have put together our top local spots for you to enjoy.

Great local spots

Here are some of the absolute best spots to grab a meal, organised both in terms of their level of deliciousness and, of course, access. After all, if it takes an hour to get there, how motivated are you going to be to get there?

The Goshawk

This is considered our utmost favourite spot to enjoy a meal. Firstly, it’s within walking distance easily and it’s in a former 19th century coach house. They have to-die-for burgers as well as good old fish and chips. They also have some truly sinful pies, too, if you’ve got a sweet tooth you wont be disappointed with the range of hot and cold deserts. From its historical ambiance to its great menu, we can’t say enough good things about this place! Neil and his team are always pleased to welcome glampers and has been known to send them home with a little ice on a hot summers night for after hours drinking back by the lakes.

Morris Dancer

This is about 5 minutes away by car and is a wonderful spot to enjoy when you do come with a car, yourself. You can also walk there, but it’s going to be a solid 30 minutes. But, hey, maybe it’s like built in exercise which means that you can totally have more bread, right? We think so, anyway. Located in Kelsall, it’s widely popular!

Fishpool Inn

The Fishpool is a cosy, characterful Cheshire pub dating back to the 18th century. Its about 15 mins drive away & very worth it . They serving local real ales, fine wines and freshly prepared food using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, the menu features traditional home comforts and modern British and European dishes. It’s also got vegetarian and vegan options, too, if you prefer. It’s a bit further away, but truly sensational for those that love a great atmosphere and fine wine.

Cornichon

Cornichon is a bar and bistro in the rural village of Tarvin, Cheshire run by husband and wife team Ben and Lisa . This is classic American eats and a great idea when you want the standard upscale appeal. There is a roaring fire, plenty of comfortable seating, and totally succulent roast beef. With great bar options and even local cuisine if you want to try something different, you’ll enjoy this! About 10 mins drive away its definitely worth a visit.

The Boot

For a classic pub with lots of seating and a totally rustic vibe, this Kelsall pub is going to be a wonderful way to try something that is classic pub grub. It’s popular with locals and glampers and we’ve enjoyed many a night there!

The White Lion Alvanley

A short 6 min drive will get you to the Lion Situated in the idyllic village of Alvanley , where they offer a range of quality cask ales and beers along with a great selection of wines plus a menu packed full of mouth-watering dishes and daily specials.

Whether you enjoy just one of these spots, or all of them (who can blame you, really), we highly recommend taking your time to truly immerse yourself with the delicious food that is so close to your glamping tent
